We had our first ever craft party & yoga class collaboration today! Margaret Hluch taught us the technique of shibori to create a patern on a yoga mat bag. It entailed stitching using various methods to create a resist.
As the bags were soaking in the dye bath, Ananda Shala's Dominica Knapp led us in a 45 minute outdoor yoga class! She spoke about creativity as fuel for our body. It was a wonderful way to tie it all together!
The bags needed to be untied and then we saw our beautiful results!

Photo Transfer Collage
No matter how many times we offer this class, people always enjoy it! "Photo Transfer Collage" was a big hit last night! Led by Courtney Prahl, we learned an easy photo transfer method and collage techniques.

After we watched her demo, we were ready to get started with our pictures...
Check out the finished results!

Batik Workshop
A great way to spend the day- over 6 hours learning batik! Margaret Hluch taught a wonderful class! We started out by learning a brief history of batik, the tools involved and fabric selection.
We did many layers of wax and dye to build up an interesting piece!
Lunch break!
Here are the results of our batik! Most of us got 3-4 layers of colors and several pieces of fabric finished!

Beginning Silver Wire Wrapping- Earrings
Yesterday we held another craft party! Stacie Spencer taught everyone how to create wire wrapped earrings!
We practiced the techniques using copper wire before starting on the sterling silver!
The copper practice earrings came out nice as well!
Elaine always likes to get comfy on the floor! It must work for her- she always creates beautiful projects!

We hammered the wire design on both sides which gave a cool effect as well as straightened out the earring.
