Needle Felted Painting Craft Party

Last night Margaret Hluch taught the Needle Felted Painting Craft Party! Everyone brought in pictures to choose from.  There were selfies, dog pictures, and even a gnome! Margaret helped us see value and block off the various values in our pictures to give us a road map to felt!  The we transferred our pictures to felt...

Here is a finished picture of the stages from picture to value blocking to a felt piece ready for felt painting!

So many colors to choose from!  It was fun to see if people went with realistic colors- I liked the finished pieces that used crazy & fun colors!

Here are the end results and works in progress!  It was a really fun class & I loved watching the paintings take shape!

Wet Felting Fun for Parent & Child Craft Party!

We had our first ever parent & child craft party!  Kim Grinev taught the Wet Felting Fun class yesterday.  Luckily the rain held off and we were able to do it in the garden!  You could not ask for a more beautiful setting for a class!
Kim brought a large stash of beautifully dyed wool fleece for everyone to choose from.  First they learned how to create a piece of wool felt using warm soapy water and agitation.

Sushi mats were used to create the agitation that was needed to get the wool to felt. Here they are rolling their pieces!

In such a gorgeous setting it was hard to resist playing in the water garden!

Next Kim taught everyone how to felt soap.  This was a lot of fun & even I joined in! The students all made several bars of the felted soap.

Here are the finished creations! So colorful and so much fun!

Craft Party Open House Fundraiser!

We held our annual Craft Party Open House last night!  This year it benefitted Lick MS!  It was so much fun- we had a wonderful spread of refreshments and three mini crafts!

Margaret Hluch taught people how to make cute needle felted bird ornaments or pins.  People had fun picking out their colors and giving their birds personality!

Courtney Prahl made a really easy fun ornament project!  People loved this craft and many had some great ideas on how to personalize them as easy holiday gifts!

Stacie Spencer and Rene' Land worked together with people to make unique coasters!  This was really fun with all of the stamps that they brought to choose from.

Even I found time to make a few of the crafts!

Thank you to everyone who came out for the event.  And a big thank you to our teachers!  We are happy to have raised $450 for our charity!

Needle Felting Craft Party

Last night Margaret Hluch taught us needle felting!  This is a fun class that we have done before but each time yields unique fun results!  We all brought in pieces of clothing or accessories to add the needle felting to.  Margaret had so many beautiful pieces of wool roving that it was hard to decide on colors.

We got to work with the technique and spent the two hours creating our designs.

The results are fantastic and now everyone has a cool new piece of clothing or accessory to wear!
