Last night we had fun making a mess doing encaustics! We have done this class before but this time we made 5 mini collages so that people could have more experimentation in design and technique. Margaret Hluch showed us the basics of encaustics and we got right to it!
We also got to incorporate photo transfers into the collages. We transferred onto various fabrics & papers.
This class was so much fun as you can see by the piles of materials!
The finished pieces! Take a look- they all turned out great!

Wet Felting Fun for Parent & Child Craft Party!
We had our first ever parent & child craft party! Kim Grinev taught the Wet Felting Fun class yesterday. Luckily the rain held off and we were able to do it in the garden! You could not ask for a more beautiful setting for a class!
Kim brought a large stash of beautifully dyed wool fleece for everyone to choose from. First they learned how to create a piece of wool felt using warm soapy water and agitation.
Sushi mats were used to create the agitation that was needed to get the wool to felt. Here they are rolling their pieces!
In such a gorgeous setting it was hard to resist playing in the water garden!
Next Kim taught everyone how to felt soap. This was a lot of fun & even I joined in! The students all made several bars of the felted soap.
Here are the finished creations! So colorful and so much fun!

Woodburned Salad Servers Craft Party
Last night we learned the latest "hot" craft trend- woodburning! Woodburning is so versatile- you can make all sorts of wonderful personalized gifts! Courntey Prahl taught this class and made some beautiful sample pieces for inspiration. After going over some safety tips, she demonstrated how it was done.
Everyone just jumped into it! It didn't take long for the wooden spoons to be covered in interesting patterns and designs.

Metal Stamped Message in a Bottle Craft Party
I came home last night with a super cute new necklace that I made myself! Stacie Spencer taught the Metal Stamped Message in a Bottle Craft Party!
I think the hardest part was deciding what word/words to metal stamp into the pendant. We did a lot of practice stamping!
After the metal stamping, we learned how to make the beaded dangle, filled the bottle and added the jump rings to complete our necklaces!
Here are the finished results! Of course I chose polka dots... they all turned out great and hide a hidden personal message inside!
