Nature Inspired Photo Transfer on Glass

Courtney Prahl showed us a new way to photo transfer last night at our craft party!  We transferred images onto glass!  What a world of possibility this opens up...

After learning the basics, we chose our images and began the process.  You need to be patient and trial and error makes this transfer work!

The end results! As you can see, it was fun to learn how to transfer onto glass.  My mind is already thinking of how to use this technique to personalize all sorts of glass pieces!

Encaustics; Photo Transfer on Glass Craft Party

Yesterday Margaret Hluch taught her very popular class, Encaustics and Photo Transfer to a sold out group! We started the day with prepping our encaustic boards with heat and a few layers of wax.

Next was the difficult task of choosing our collage materials to create our composition. Too many pretty choices!

We chose our pictures and photo transferred them onto various papers or fabrics.  It's always magical to lift back the paper and see the transferred image!

And here are the beautiful finished results!

Patchwork Jeans Craft Party

Stitching is so relaxing so I was really excited for last night's craft party, Patchwork Jeans! Margaret Hluch has an amazing collection of hand dyed fabrics and threads to work with. I'm very envious of her embroidery floss organization!

We also had the option of incorporating photo transfers into our patches.  This way you could really personalize your jeans!

We learned several different stitches to use in our patchwork.  & some of us invented our own stitches (Clare!)

They all turned out so cool!  I am anxious to see the finished products with added patches!  We are all off to a very good start!

Encaustic Trading Cards Craft Party

Last night we had fun making a mess doing encaustics!  We have done this class before but this time we made 5 mini collages so that people could have more experimentation in design and technique. Margaret Hluch showed us the basics of encaustics and we got right to it!
We also got to incorporate photo transfers into the collages.  We transferred onto various fabrics & papers.

This class was so much fun as you can see by the piles of materials!

The finished pieces!  Take a look- they all turned out great!
